Hello there!
My name is David Clark. Welcome to my site and thanks for stopping by! Below is a little info about me and a few words on what makes me tick.
Growing up I often wished for more pictures of myself and cherished the few we had. As the years passed, I came to also wish for more pictures of my parents and grandparents. I wanted to remember their stories and glimpse into the world they lived through.
If I can bring a little joy to someone by freezing a moment in time, that's a job worth doing.
2012 is when my photography journey began. I had long been curious but now was finally able to borrow a decent camera and attend a photography class at Clark College. This slice of the world was just beginning open up, and it was wonderfully complex and nuanced - a realm I could sink my teeth into. The spark was lit, and I was hooked.
More than a decade has since passed, and, while I've changed immensely during that time, the flame for freezing a moment in time via photograph hasn't dwindled.
As a computer and technology geek, the mechanics of photography and harnessing light is a fascinating, endless forest to navigate and bend as I continue to refine my approach. Countless hours into this craft, and much more remains to be explored.
That same techy part of me is enamored by the latest camera features and newest lenses, so checking myself and not draining the wallet has been an important discipline. While shiny new tools are amazing, learning more about bending light and relating to people are the indispensable.
more about me
While I moved around a ton as a child and spent some years in Sweden, the PNW is where most of my memories are and the place I call home. It's hard to imagine living anywhere else, especially with the variety of places to see, things to do, and people to meet around here!
I met my wife, Katie, at a mutual friend's house when in college. One of the first things we did together was me teaching her to dance east coast swing. At the time, I was social swing dancing every week and loved introducing friends to the basic steps.

We're an expressive family. Playing games, dance parties in the living room, and romping about are daily features. Piggy back rides and chasing each other are the boy's favorites.
Connor loves being goofy and wears his heart on his sleeve.
These silly minions are big part of my life. They'll wear me out and cheer me up.
These days, summer is the family's favorite time of year. The boys love going outside and burning off their energy. From the patio to the beach, they just want to get outdoors, especially if there's water to play in and rocks to throw.
.
Once the weather dries up a little you'll find me riding the motorcycle whenever possible and exploring the PNW.
If you were to pick only two things to describe me, drawn to people and forever curious about how things work would be an accurate description.
If you've made it this far, thanks so much for taking the time to get to know me a little!
If you like my work or have any questions, please feel free to shoot over a message.
